This Coates Starling Resistant 8-unit Purple Martin Bird House will welcome these beautiful birds home year after year. Martins spend the winter months in South America, in the lowlands east of the Andes. They return to North America in the summer to breed. Their breeding area ranges from Alberta to New Brunswick, southward into central Texas and Florida. They can also be found in scattered locations near the Pacific Coast, and in areas of the deserts and mountains of the southwestern United States and Mexico. East of the Rocky Mountains purple martins rely solely on housing supplied by humans for breeding.

This purple martin bird house has 8 compartments. Stay cool design features include aluminum and stainless steel construction, light colors, a reflective roof and proper ventilation. Other features include porch dividers, hinged clean out doors, guard rails, top perch and an all-aluminum base plate. Winter door plugs sold separate. Should be used with the 12' Telescoping Pole model number CPM-TP12.

This purple martin bird house comes with Starling Resistant Entrance Holes (SREH's). Tests have shown that SREH's are 99.8% effective in keeping the pesky European Starlings out while letting the purple martins in. This is very important to the survival of the Purple Martin family since starlings are very aggressive nesters.
